Send us your address and we will send you a quote. Work that covers the whole property, mowing and cleanups, is priced by the size of your lot. Everything else is priced by how much there is to do.

We only work in these neighbourhoods. Keeping every customer within a few streets of the next one is what lets us run the whole route by bike and keep our prices down. Every service on this page is available in all eight.
Questions we get asked.
Do you offer a season or subscription service?
Yes. Season mowing is a subscription. You pay one fee every month from May to October, six payments for the whole season, and every mowing visit through the season is included. The amount is set by the size of your lot.
One-time work is billed outside the monthly fee. A cleanup, mulch or a hedge is quoted as its own job whenever you want it.
How often does a lawn need cutting in Ottawa?
About every seven days through May and June, when the grass grows fastest. Growth slows in the heat of July and August and the gap stretches to ten days or more, then tightens again in September.
We cut when your lawn needs cutting rather than on a fixed date, so the gap moves with the weather and the season.
Can you really maintain a property with an e-bike?
Yes. The bike is a cargo e-bike pulling a trailer, and every piece of equipment is specified by weight against what the bike is rated to carry. The trailer is loaded for that day's jobs, so what arrives at your property is what the work needs.

Do you carry the right tools for jobs other than mowing?
Mowing days and job days carry different tools. Hedge trimming, mulch, power washing and garden work are booked onto days set aside for one-time jobs, so the tools your job needs are on the trailer when we arrive.
That is also why bigger jobs are quoted and booked for a date rather than added on the spot.
What happens to the clippings, leaves and cuttings?
Grass clippings go into your green bin at no charge. Leaves, bed debris and hedge cuttings go into paper yard waste bags and are left at the curb for city collection on your regular day.
If a job fills more bags than one collection takes, we tell you before we start.
Do you apply chemical fertilizers or weed killer?
No. We do not apply chemical fertilizers or pesticides, and we are not licensed to.
Weeds are pulled by hand from beds, edges and cracks. That is booked as its own job and quoted at $75 an hour.
What if it rains before the bags are collected?
We check the forecast before a cleanup. If the bags are going to sit through rain we tarp them, or we move the work to a day that clears the collection.
How do I know you will actually get to my lawn?
A route takes 40 homes, and four mowing days a week to cut them. The fifth weekday is kept clear on purpose.
When rain or a breakdown costs us a mowing day, the jobs booked on that spare day move and the lawns get cut. We stop taking customers once a route is full, so we never take on more than we can look after.
Do you subcontract the work?
No. Every visit is done by someone who works for Green & Tidy, on our own equipment.
We keep one person on a route wherever we can, so whoever comes to your property already knows it: where the gate sticks, where the irrigation heads sit, which bed you want left alone.
Are you insured? What happens if something gets damaged?
We carry $2 million in general liability insurance and will show you the certificate on request.
If we damage something on your property, we tell you the same day and work with you to fix it as soon as possible.
How are your prices competitive?
We did thorough market research across Ottawa. For the same work, our prices sit squarely in the middle of the range.
We keep our costs low by running the route on an e-bike instead of a truck. There is no truck to buy, no fuel and no vehicle insurance. This is the largest expense of property care. Battery tools cost more to buy than gas ones and the savings on the vehicle help offset it.
